Kea is free and open source, released under the MIT License. The source is at github.com/meetkea/kea, and that licence is what governs your use of the app.

The app is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. You run it on your own machine and at your own risk.

Kea is an independent open-source project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by X Corp.

Kea shows the X website in a native Mac window. X owns that interface and the content in it; your use of X through Kea is still subject to X’s own terms and policies.

Support is voluntary. It is not a purchase, a subscription or a charitable donation to Kea, and it does not buy features, priority or any promise of future work. Kea is free with or without it.

Payments are handled entirely by Ko-fi or PayPal under their terms; refunds are a matter for the provider you paid.

Our intention is that 70% of what we receive goes to developing Kea and 30% is donated each month to Protect the Kea. Protect the Kea is managed by NZ Nature Fund for the Kea Conservation Trust.

Donating directly to Protect the Kea is a separate act from supporting Kea: that money goes to the project, not through us. Kea is an independent open-source project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by NZ Nature Fund, the Kea Conservation Trust, or X Corp.

The Kea name, logo and the artwork on this site are ours and are not covered by the MIT licence that applies to the app’s source code. Everything else here you are welcome to read, quote and link to.

If these terms change, this page changes with it, and the date above is updated.
